Send the broken
part. Get a
working one.
An engineering shop in Chicago, printers in the room. Quote back in 4 business hours.
Most shops print
what you send.
We tell you why
it broke first.
01
The file is usually the problem
A thin wall, load across the layers, a sharp corner. We say so before it prints.
The ten rules we check02
One person, start to finish
The engineer who quotes it prints it and measures it. No queue, no handoff.
03
Local is the whole point
Pickup and courier inside the city. The national shops are five to ten days away.
From file to part
Three steps. One engineer, start to finish.
A file, or a photo
A ruler in the picture is enough.
Send- We check it
3–5 business days
Chicago pickup and courier. Rush when it qualifies.
Ready
Four ways in
Most jobs are the first one.
Functional parts in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU. Priced from your geometry.
Common jobs
What comes through the door most.
What Chicago brings in
Bikes first. Yours does not have to be on the list.
- Bar light mountFits your bar. 31.8, 25.4, or a Divvy.
- Fender and rack bracketsWinter-proof in ASA. Salt and sun.
- Cargo bike partsLatches, spacers, mounts for the hauler.
- E-bike battery latchThe latch that gave out, printed thicker.
- Radiator knobsHandles for a 1920s two-flat.
- Window AC bracketsBrackets that fit your window.
- Tap handles and bar partsHandles, drip trays, menu holders.
- Pedalboard and stage gearBrackets, clips, mic mounts for the gig.
What the shop can hold
Numbers, not adjectives.
Full table- Build volume
- 235.5 × 256 × 256 mm when both nozzles are in play. Bigger than that gets split and bonded, and we will say so before quoting.
- Heated chamber
- This is what makes ABS and ASA behave. Without it they warp and delaminate, which is why most desktop shops quietly steer you to PLA.
- Dimensional tolerance
- The same figure Protolabs Network publishes for FDM. Tighter than that wants machining, and we will tell you when it does.
- Inspection
- Measured by hand against your drawing on the features you marked critical. Not a CMM, and never described as one.
How this shop is set up
Stated plainly, so you can decide before you send anything.
- Engineer owned and operated.
- One engineer from quote through inspection.
- In-house FDM production in Chicago.
- CNC sourced through partner shops, never machined here.
- Rush capacity intentionally limited.
- Jobs reviewed before they are accepted.
Outside our scope
We say so in the first reply and point you at someone who does it properly.
- SLS, MJF, metal printing, or production injection molding. If your part needs those, we'll tell you and point you somewhere real.
- Runs in the thousands are not printed here. We prototype and validate the part, then point you at a production supplier instead of dropping you where it gets big.
- Anything requiring certified material traceability, FAI, or CMM inspection reports.
